L'aire de répartition du Ploceus bicolor est la plus petite (selon Birds of the Horn of Africa de Redman,Stevenson et Fanshawe).
Elle n'intègre normalement ni l’Éthiopie, ni Djibouti mais juste un corridor en Somalie du sud-ouest pourtant cette photo a été prise en Éthiopie.
